Welsh Lady bud vase

Handmade ceramic Welsh lady bud vases, perfect for daffodils.

These stoneware ladies are thrown on my potters wheel in 2 parts, the body and the hat. Once dry enough to handle, the hats are attached. The apron pattern is screen printed in my studio and attached to the lady using a transfer technique. They are then fully painted in a beautiful deep blue and when this has dried the character is scratched and carved into the clay using a technique called sgraffito. They are then twice fired with a dip in a red iron oxide solution to give it the rustic textured 'blue stone' feel.

Each lady is carefully crafted by Rhiannon.

They are between 11cm and 14cm tall.
